Search for documents and media resources
To search for resources in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Document Library, follow these steps:
- Click inside the “Search LCMS Files” window at the top of the page.
- Type your search terms in the box.
- Hit “Enter” or click the blue “Search” button.
A basic search will look for these resource types:
— Audio files
— Images
— Microsoft Excel files
— Microsoft PowerPoint files
— Microsoft Word documents
— PDF files
— Video files
- Click on specific document types (Word, PDF, etc.) to target your search. Otherwise, all types will be included. Click on an item a second time to deselect.
- Click “Apply filters and search” or hit enter.
For an advanced search, click the “View more options” button in the search window.
Searches can be filtered by:
File Type — Click on specific document types (Word, PDF, etc.) to target your search. Otherwise, all types will be included. Click on an item a second time to deselect.
File Labels — Click on specific labels/tags to target your search by category types (LCMS Views, FAQs, President, etc.). Otherwise, all types will be included. Click on an item a second time to deselect.
File Location — Click on specific file folders (About, Beliefs, Convention, Worship & Prayer, etc.) to target your search. Otherwise, all types will be included. Click on an item a second time to deselect.
Date modified — Results will automatically include items from anytime. Other options include today, yesterday, last 7 days, last 15 days, and last 30 days.
Language — English is the default search field. Click the dropdown menu to search for Spanish and Russian documents.
- Hit “Enter” or click the blue “Search” button to get search results.
- To begin a new search, click the white “Reset” button.
- To close the search, click the “Close” button or click outside the search window.
