Explanation about removal of congregation statistical trend data

Statistical trend data and charts for congregations of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod have been removed from the LCMS Locator.

The primary purpose of the LCMS Locator is to connect people with local worship and ministries.

LCMS congregations have repeatedly asked LCMS Rosters, Statistics, and Research Services (RSRS) to remove trend charts from the LCMS Locator.

Trend charts often included calculated data not specifically reported by congregations and could be misleading. Statistics do not tell the full story of what and how a congregation is doing.

Each congregation may access its statistical information on file with the RSRS, and specific requests for that data should be directed to the congregation.
